Welcome (and disregard the banner
ads!)
When most people think of a
wooden clock they usually conjure an image
of the family heirloom grandfather clock or the clock sitting on the
fireplace
mantle. These clocks are common fixtures in many homes and
their
abundance is a testament to our human curiosity and attraction
to these magnificent
and beautiful creations. Few people, however, will imagine a
clock that is
constructed
entirely from wood, including the entire gear train. These wooden
skeleton clocks are
rare works of what I call kinetic art
and only a handful of
woodcraft artisans design and build them.
You can
understand why the ranks of
wooden clock builders is thin when you consider the multitude of
disciplines that the artisan must master before putting blades to wood.
Building one of these clocks is a real challenge but, the finished
work is well worth the effort. If you don't believe you're up
to the task of completing this complex wood project, then feel free to
inquire as to how you and I could design one together and place the
finished clock in your home.

I invite you to browse
through this site and learn about the process for commissioning a clock
to be built for you.
Respectfully, Max
